NEWS – Women’s Day Wins: Lionesses Campaign Success

Following a campaign launched by England’s Women Footballers after their massive European Championship win in 2022, English schools will now have to teach at least two hours of PE each week and have been told that girls and boys must have access to the same kinds of sports in the PE lessons and after school clubs.

The famous Lionesses petitioned the potential prime ministerial candidates last year in an open letter, flagging that “‘currently, only 63% of girls can play football in PE lessons” and asking ministers to “make it a priority to invest in girls’ football in schools, so that every girl has the choice.”
