Event Tech Live takes place once again at ExCeL, London on 16th & 17th November 2022 and going into its 9th year, this event is yet again set to showcase the very best in #EventTech, so of course we wanted to be there!
Along with Women In Exhibitions, we’re co-hosting a panel session on Wednesday 16th November at 3pm. The title of the session is “Building the workforce of the future in today’s challenging climate” and focuses on the imminent challenges the events industry faces to sustain its future in this post-pandemic world. With the exponential increase in the cost of living and the ever growing talent shortage, preparation is going to be key to empowering the events workforce of the future. The session will explore ways in which we can broaden and diversify our approach to sourcing talent and how we can provide support and resources to prepare the events workforce of the future for success.
The panel features:
- Our very own Ally Owen, founder of Brixton Finish School and all round diversity champion. Brixton Finishing School exists to facilitate upskilling and make introductions to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to break into the media and advertising industries.
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consultant and creator of Changing Mindsets, Ash Ahmad. Ash works with organisations across all contexts to build a workplace that is not only diverse but fosters a culture of inclusion allowing all employees and particularly those from underrepresented groups to thrive.
- Troi Lee is a London based Deaf DJ, performer, festival curator and events organiser, putting on raves and producing online streamed showcases in sign songs, dance, comedy, VV (Visual Vernacular) and other visual performances made by and for Deaf communities worldwide.
- Kate Disley Founder & CEO of TEMBO & The Ethical Collective. Kate has been working in exhibitions and conferences for over 25 years. She has been responsible for the successful delivery of brand strategies and campaigns for hundreds of events, including the largest B2B event in the UK, Spring Fair, and the multi-award-winning New Scientist Live.
