Established in 2017 to help address the lack of diversity at senior level in corporations in the UK, The Parker Review comes out annually, and last month the 2022 results were made available.
The voluntary census revealed:
➡️ 96% of companies in the FTSE 100 index had at least one director from an ethnic minority background on their board by the end of 2022, up from 89% last year.
➡️ 18% of all FTSE 100 directorships are currently held by individuals from a minority ethnic group
➡️ 47% of ethnic minority directors are women
The report is asking for:
- Each FTSE 350 to set a percentage target for senior management positions that will be occupied by ethnic minority executives in December 2027
- 50 of the UK’s largest private companies to have at least one ethnic minority director on the main board by December 2027. Each company will also be asked to set a target for the percentage of ethnic minority executives within its senior management team.
